A middle-class Chinese man; wearing a long blue patterned tunic (belted at the waist) over a white underdress and black boots, a long braid over his right shoulder and holding a hat - possibly a summer cap with dyed horsehair - behind his back; from an album of 82 drawings of China. Watercolour, ink and graphite.
