Description

Watercolour illustration commissioned by William Roxburgh. ROX497. In his 'Flora Indica', Roxburgh describes this species as a scandent shrub, native of the warmer parts of Asia. Roxburgh notes that this species is similar to 'Mimosa mutabilis R.' Indeed the flowers appear during the rains, and when they first expand are of a bright purple colour, then they become white by age. Roxburgh, 'Flora Indica' (1832) v.2, p.564.
