Description

Landscape with two figures in a canoe on a stretch of water surrounded by tall mountains, with thick trees on the lower slopes to either side, thatched buildings on the shore to right and two figures on the shore in the left foreground, one kneeling, the other standing and holding a spear. 1791. Hand-coloured soft-ground etching.

Inscription

Lettered below the image with the title and 'Vide Cooks last Voyage Vol. 2. Chap. 1. / J. Webber R.A. fecit. / London Pubd. Augt. 1. 1791 by J Webber No. 312 Oxford Street.'
