Inscribed in pen and black ink, upper left: "Cowley Vol XII page 16"; inscribed, upper right: "213."; inscribed, lower centre: "COWLEY middx:"; inscribed, lower left: "On the North Side | To the Memory of | Mrs. ELIZABETH STAFFORD HILLIARD | She died in child Bed August 23d. 1800 | in the 43d. year of her Age. | Possessing the approbation of all who knew her | and practising every Virtue | that commands Respect or creates Esteem | as a Christian Mother Wife and Friend. |her loss is severely felt by those to whose love and Gratitude | she was most eminently entitled | and by whom this Monument | was erected A. D. 1801."; inscribed, lower right: "On the East Side | Here lyeth the Body of | WILLIAM CROSIER Esqr: | of this Parish | Who departed this life December 22d. 1772 aged 46".
