Portrait of Mrs Abington in the character of Aurelia, from George Farquhar's 'The Twin Rivals', probable study for Bell's British Theatre; whole-length, standing, head turned slightly to right but looking to front, in panniered dress with purple decorations, and necklace, hair high, with ribbon and feathers. dated 1778. Pen and ink with watercolour, on vellum pasted onto board.
