Chaucer's Tomb, South Transept, Westminster Abbey; beneath an ornately carved stone canopy stands the tomb of Chaucer, three shields surrounded by floral borders make up the decorative façade of the tomband above it a mostly illegible inscription is carved into the wall, to the right of the canopy another, much newer, tomb is set into the wall, surmounted by a carved effigy. 1850. Watercolour with bodycolour over graphite.
