Inscribed (191?) in pencil l.l. to l.r. below composition and repeated below border with numerals 1 to 8 referring to key on JRR printed caption (in Accession File).
Painted 1785? Squared off in pencil for transfer. A replica by Peachey, 1785, is in P.A.C. (see Archives Canada Microfiches, Microfiche 2, No. 11; Negative. No. C-1511).
