Description

Watercolour painting on paper of three men. All three wear wide white trousers with white tunics, tied at the waist with sashes. It is possible that the men are street performers or part of a procession as they carry various objects. The man on the left carries a long pole off which hang numerous coloured flags and at the top has a plume of peacock feathers. He holds the pole steady using a piece of string which he holds in his left hand. The second man holds a bowl, possibly a begging bowl, in his left hand and has a bushy moustache. The third man plays an hourglass shaped drum with a stick. All three men wear shoes with up-turned toes. The painting has green ribbon around the edge.
