Description

Heads of tombstones from Cripplegate and St. George the Martyr's, Hunter Street Bloomsbury; seven carved tombstones, the first two are ornamented with a head in front of an emblem of a pair of wings, the third has a winged putto holding a crown above a book, the fourth has a skull and crossbones as does the fifth with the addition of a laurel wreath to the skull, the sixth shows three bald heads, the topmost of which has a pair of wings behind it, and the seventh tombstone has a simple design carved upon it which may be a representation of an urn. Watercolour over graphite.
