Description

Watercolour illustration commissioned by William Roxburgh. ROX1606. In his 'Flora Indica', Roxburgh reports that this plant has been introduced in India from the Malay Islands. According to Roxburgh this species is cultivated in the Malay Islands for its root, which tastes and looks like a turnip. Roxburgh, 'Flora Indica' (1832) v.3, p.309.
