Description

Drawing of west view of Saddell Abbey, Argyllshire. There are no names attached to this charming and serene pencil sketch. The abbey stood in a copse of trees to the east of Saddell village and is framed by Saddell Water. This Cistercian house was founded in 1148 as part of the power politics of Somerled, Lord of the Isles' reign.
