Description

A watercolour showing Queen Victoria's third and fourth children, Princess Alice and Prince Alfred. Prince Alfred is shown full-length, facing forward and is holding a rattle in one hand. He is wearing a green and black nineteenth-century style child's dress. Princess Alice is shown standing to the right, facing left in profile. She is holding her hands together in front of her and looking down at her younger brother. She is wearing a purple nineteenth-century style child's dress with a black apron.
