The Harbour. copied from Mrs. Simcoe's Picture. Former (original) mat for JRR 737 to 740 inscribed in ink, b.: [...] York (Toronto) Upper Canada (Province of Ontario) / [...] of Pencil Drawings and Water Colors and are / [...]yly Grier for J. Ross Robertson in 1896. Probably after an oil by Arthur Cox, 1876 "Toronto, 1793" (x 4-3). Looking w. from near mouth of Don R. See Grier notes. JRR (1912) 477|1793 (painted 1896)
Medium: Watercolour over pencil with ruled border of pen & brown ink, pencil, and pale brown wash. Laid down on cardboard mount.
