Initialled l.r; Inscription in full: This view represents part of the Bay of Valparaiso, as seen from the heights above the castle looking towards the Villa del Mar, in the extreme distance to the left is shewn the stupendous mountain of Tupungato, 23000 feet high. Horizontal distance from Ft. Sn. Anto. 89 miles. Virtical [sic] above horizontal plain 1* 56' at the above fort. Capt. Fitsroy [sic], R.N; Title from part of inscription along lower edge; Variously attributed to Conrad Martens or Carlos Chatworthy Wood Taylor; see R08/100768. Medium: watercolour.
