Description

Half-length frontal portrait of a young Aboriginal woman, wearing a necklace of animal fur. Also known as Numbloote & Semiramis, wife of Timmy, aged about 20

One of 3 watercolour originals of this subject; others held at the Pitt Rivers Museum, Oxford and in the A W F Fuller Collection, Mitchell Library, Sydney. According to the caption on the Pitt Rivers' copy, she was 'rather facetious and loquacious, no children, don't live very amicable'
