Description
The hull of a ship moored off Wapping Stairs in the River Thames, flags flying at either end and on a single mast at left, members of the congregation approaching in surrounding boats; a view of the interior during a service below. 1819. Hand-coloured etching and aquatint.

Lettered below image with title, description of the signals, location and service times of the floating chapel and dedication to R.H. Marten Esqr, founder and treasurer and to the Gentlemen of the Committee of the Port of London Society, with production detail: "Drawn by J. Gendall & Engraved by D. Havell" and publication line: "Published Septr. 1st. 1819 at R. Ackermann's, 101, Strand, London"
