Description

Watercolour mounted on page 30. A sculptured tympanum viewed through the arch of the south porch. The tympanum is above the door into the nave and shows St.George on horseback, he is carrying a lance and a flag. Inscriptions: [on mount bottom middle] "Norman Tablet. Fordington" / [on mount] "Sculpture represents St. George Bishop of Sarum in 1096".
