Description

A Free Corps officer of Austria and Styria, known as a redcoat , modelling a military costume of a blue trousers and jacket lined with red, over a white chemise and with a black hat decorated with green foliage; his weapons are held by a waistbelt and his rifle hangs by a strap on his shoulder. Etching with hand-colouring.

Lettered at bottom of image: “A Basle ches Chr : de Mechel.”
