Description

The Siege of Sevastopol lasted from September 1854 until September 1855, during the Crimean War. The hills and their fortified positions overlooking the city were of strategic importance, with the capture of Malakoff on 8th September 1855 by French forces resulting in the fall of Sevastopol.
