Description

Five ships and a number of small boats, three of which are gathered around a whale in the left foreground, with the men spearing it; other men in the right foreground, spearing and clubbing a sea-lion; after Sieuwert van der Meulen. Hand-coloured mezzotint with some etching.

Inscription

Lettered at the base of the image in a plaque with the title and 'V. dr Maulen [sic] delin. // J. Willson fecit.'
