Description
Crypt of Bow Church, Cheapside, the Norman crypt of the old church was used by Wren to support his own superstructure, the drawing is from a large collection of drawings of buildings and antiquities in London, including Roman remains in the City and interiors of many places including St. Paul's Cathedral, Southwark, the Strand, Covent Garden, Bloomsbury, British Museum and Whitehall. 1843. Watercolour over graphite, with touches of white.
