Description

Watercolour illustration commissioned by William Roxburgh. ROX1669. In his 'Flora Indica', Roxburgh notes that this species is a native of Ceylon. It was introduced into Calcutta Botanic garden by General Macdowall. The drawing is on wove paper watermarked 'J. WHATMAN 1808'. Roxburgh, 'Flora Indica' (1832) v.3, p.582.
