Description

Scene depicting the presentation of a number of praiseworthy magistrates in Basel; many figures dressed in black robes and black hats sit on benches around the edge of the room; in the foreground a group of figures stands watching; more observe from the doorway in the left background; a figure sits at a green desk, writing in a book; another stands at the window at the back, also writing; a board on the right hand wall has many names inscribed on it. Etching with hand-colouring.
