Description

Mosaic panel of Battle Abbey made in the Fenner and Nye workshop, possibly as early as 1820. This is a highly skilled piece which uses different shades of wood mosaic to achieve an almost "watercolour" appearance. The maker is able to show the abbey in perspective by increasing the size of the wood blocks from left to right.
