Description

Charles Henry Palethorpe (1856-1922) built Surf Point on the shore in Rhosneigr, known as Sausage Castle, in 1909. The name derives from the fact that the Palethorpe family, which originated in the Black Country, had made its fortune from the manufacture and processing of pork. Cockram’s house The Dunes stands just inland from Surf Point, and was sold to Henry ‘Inie’ Palethorpe in the later 1920s
