Description
Effigy of Sir Oliver Ingham, Seneschal of Guienne (died 1344), in Ingham Church, Norfolk, study for part of plate 66 in Stothard's 'The Monumental Effigies of Great Britain', published by Mrs Anna Eliza Bray, 1817-32, one of a large group of studies for this volume; study of figure as originally painted, seen almost to front, lying on a bed of stones, wearing armour, and surcoat decorated with a cross, with mutilated legs, a lion underfoot, and two figures above his head, also separate studies of part of belt and clasp, and scabbard mountings, with part of belt attached. 1812. Pen and black ink and grey ink and watercolour, with graphite.
