Portrait of the eccentric linguist Richard Roberts Jones, a young man with curly shoulder-length hair and thick beard and mustache; whole length, standing very slightly to left, glancing towards the viewer, holding a book in his right hand, another in the left under his right arm, a third in the pocket of his jacket; hat lying on the ground at left, pile of books and scrolls at right. 1823. Etching with hand-colouring.
