Description

A note under the left hand side of the engraving reads, 'Drawn by Genl. Hutton for the Portfolio, & Engd. by J. & H.S. Storer'. On the right hand side a note reads, 'Pubd. By Sherwood & Co, Augt. 1, 1823'. The Collection also includes another Hutton drawing of Gowrie House, which dates from 1783, one of a series of studies Hutton made of the building. The house, which overlooked the Tay in the centre of Perth, disappeared in 1809. It had been the town residence of the Earls of Gowrie until the early seventeenth century.
