The Utrechtsepoort would have been situated by the current junction of Utrechtsestraat and Stadsring. The Utrechtsepoort was built around 1416. It was also called Sint Jorispoort or Sint Joostenpoort, and was on the road to Utrecht. It was a rectangular building connected to a front gate. In 1835 the gate complex was demolished for a Plantsoen. The gate, which has been preserved, is now located at the entrance of Park Randenbroek. The city canal and the Plantsoen were filled in and dug up in 1957 during the construction of the Rondweg.
