Description

This detailed drawing shows the east window of Dunblane Cathedral. A note in the bottom right-hand corner reads, 'Elevation of the E window Dunblane cathedral'. Although there is no artist and date attached, it may be the work of Alexander Morton and may date from around 1813. Alexander Morton executed a large number of the drawings that form the Hutton Collection in the 1810s. He is renowned for his floor plans of ecclesiastical buildings, many of which are in the Hutton Collection. If this drawing is indeed by him, it is an unusual and interesting example of his work.
