Watercolour illustration commissioned by William Roxburgh. ROX991.
In his 'Flora Indica', Roxburgh describes this species as a pretty large tree with a very ramous head, found in gardens about Calcutta. He also notes: 'The seeds are deemed wholesome, and nearly as palatable as chesnuts [sic] when roasted.'
