Description

A woman rises up from her seat at the dinner table as she spots the arrival of a visitor, possibly her lover. While she engages the attention of the two young children, her other companions, presumably her father and sister, appear oblivious to her excitement. Walker depicted many scenes from daily life, painted with naturalistic detail and produced a large number of designs for black and white illustrations in weekly periodicals, novels and poems.
