Description
A parrot standing on a branch in profile to left; impression cut and pasted onto a sheet, together with cutting of explanatory text in letterpress below; illustration to Savage's 'Practical hints on decorative printing' (1822); after Neale. 1822. Woodcut on chine collé, printed from seven blocks in black, yellow, blue, red, shades of green and grey.
Inscription
Lettered in letterpress on cutting below with title, followed by 'From New South Wales.', production details 'Drawn from life by J.P. Neale. - Engraved by Branston.', and explanatory text over six lines: 'This beautiful, and in England, scarce bird, [...] There are seven blocks.'
