Gihon Spring (or Fountain of the Virgin) in the Kidron Valley, in northern part of the Old City, was the main source of water for the Pool of Siloam (wikipedia) and David Roberts in ' The Holy Land, Syria, Idumea, Arabia, Egypt, and Nubia' refers to Gihon Spring as "Upper Fountain of Siloam"
