Description

Originally commissioned by the 4th Duke of Atholl as part of a collection of 56 drawings. Description added in 1870. Distant View of Stirling [Sterling spelt with an e then corrected in same pen] - [inserted above] - and Stirling Castle [end of insert] - Alloa in foreground - taken from the left side of Shawpark Estate - the wooded Ochills on the right - - New Sauchie is in the valley out of sight + above + to the right of Alloa.
