Description

Botanical study of knap-weed or matfelon (Lacea nigra) and cornflower or bluebottle (Cyanus minor vulg.). With flower details and section of stem. From a series of watercolours of English grasses and wild flowers by Richard Waller (MS/131). The paintings were possibly intended as illustrations for a catalogue of plants by John Ray (1627-1705).
