Description

Inscribed: "From my bedroom window, Hotel Belvedere, Bordighera, Jan 20th".
This watercolour/drawing forms part of a dark blue fabric bound sketchbook, with black leather spine with five gold lines. There is a perished elasticated black loop attached to the front and inside the cover is a maker’s label ‘George Squire, 293 Oxford Street, W’. The back cover has a pencil holder built in to one side. The 11 assorted watercolours and sketches start from the back of the sketchbook. The first group of watercolours dated January - March 1900 record scenes in Bordighera, Menton and Perugia. There is also a watercolour of Durham Cathedral.
