Description

A watercolour showing the parterre with figures and distant avenues, made during Queen Victoria's visit to Eu from 2 to 7 September 1843. Probably drawn from Lady Canning's room which was at the top of the house, immediately above the Queen's suite. Signed, dated and inscribed 'Château d'Eu/Sept 5th 1843' and 'Gardens of Château d'Eu/C. C. Sept 1843'.
