Description

Hornbill (A) & Ascetics entertaining visitors (B). Two single-page paintings mounted on either side of detached album folio. Side A: study of hornbill with resting on a rocky outcrop; background mostly blank except for some wispy shrubs and hills lightly drawn and tinted with shades of pink, blue and green; framed by a thin, blue border containing a single gold, scrolling vine. Side B: ascetics entertaining visitors at night; framed by thin, blue border containing intertwining vine and flora scrolls; light, beige-coloured margin decorated with shrubs and flowers; stamped. Ink, opaque watercolour and gold on paper.
