Description

Watercolour painting on paper of Averrhoa carambola a species of woody plant commonly called Carambola and Starfruit. The painting shows a branch of a plant with multiple dark green leaves and two green/yellow fruit. Buds and pink flowers are also depicted. In the lower right hand corner of the paper are details of the seeds and flowers of the plant and a cross section of the fruit. Areas of the painting have been burnished to give a three-dimensional quality to the painting. The painting is from an album of 58 botanical paintings.
