Description

Image depicting a view from the left side of Montmorency falls. The vegetation is green and rich. Two people glide across the water in a canoe while a lone fisherman wades in a bit further up the bank. A soldier stands curiously at attention, rifle on shoulder, beneath a bending coniferous tree in the foreground.
The verso has a very discreet doodle of a landscape with a small house, a body of water, and three or four trees.
There is slight damage in the lower right corner of the work (from bending? - colour seems to be flaking away). The verso leads to believe that the work was once attached to something; it has a near-hole in the centre of the support. The matting is dirty and has some stains.
