Description

Half-length frontal portrait of a young Aboriginal man. Also known as Jack, aged 24 & married to Wortabowigee (Fanny)

One of 3 watercolour originals of this subject; the others are held at the Pitt Rivers Museum, Oxford and at the Royal Anthropological Institute, London. The copy in the Pitt Rivers Museum includes the inscription 'Rather risible - no family - very good disposition"
