Description

Holy Trinity Church, Mardale was demolished between 1929 and 1935. The land it stood on was flooded to create the Haweswater Reservoir. The Reservoir was built by the Manchester Corporation to supply Manchester with water. The stones of the demolished church were used to help build the Reservoir's dam and draw-off tower.
