Description

Inscribed: "From the [uber alpina?]".
This watercolour/drawing forms part of a fawn fabric-covered sketchbook with two black printed lines around the edge of front and back covers. There are 31 pages, some of which are blank, but the remainder are a mix of sketches and watercolours of various locations in Switzerland and one in northern Italy. The sketches record a journey through Switzerland from May - September 1889. Back inside cover is inscribed: "Miss E. Thompson c/o [care of] E. G Willett Strathwell [House], Whitwell, Isle of Wight"
