Inscribed in orange watercolour, l.l.: Owen Staples 1911.
Mackenzie & Co. framing label, formerly laid down dust cover l.c. (upside-down), now in Acc. File. The JRR Catalogue states that the house, built about 1800, was owned by the Bishop family, and had formerly been occupied by Mr. McMullen. JRR(1912) 432
