Effigy of William de Colchester (died 1420), Abbot of Westminster (fl 1400), from his monument in the chapel of St. John the Baptist, Westminster Abbey, study of part of plate 114 of Stothard's 'The Monumental Effigies of Great Britain', published by Mrs Anna Eliza Bray, 1817-32, one of a large group of studies for this volume; male figure to front, with hands held in attitude of prayer, resting feet on an animal and head on a pillow supported by two angels, wearing ecclesiastical costume, including mitre and chasuble. 1812.
