Two blue butterflies and a caterpillar, from an album of 91 drawings entitled 'Merian's Drawings of Surinam Insects &c'; on a flowering pomegranate. Watercolour, strengthened with gum, and bodycolour, heightened with white, with pen and black ink, heightened with white, on vellum.
