Description
Effigy of one of the Wingfields, Lords of Letheringham, in Wingfield Church, Norfolk, study for plate 92 of Stothard's 'The Monumental Effigies of Great Britain', published by Mrs Anna Eliza Bray, 1817-32, one of a large group of studies for this volume; male figure, to front, with hands held in attitude of prayer, wearing armour, and resting head on a helmet and feet on a lion, also separate smaller study of the same, and study of details not seen on the print, consisting of helmet and portion of chain-mail. 1812. Pen and grey ink and watercolour, with graphite and grey wash.
