Description

Watercolour illustration commissioned by William Roxburgh. ROX1435.
In his 'Flora Indica' Roxburgh describes this species as a tree introduced into the Botanic garden of Calcutta from the Moluccas, in 1798. He also adds: 'in ten years, they have grown to be trees of a large size, and blossom in September.'
