Description

Head and shoulders view of a young Tasmanian Aboriginal woman, wearing a shell necklace. Also known as 'Fanny', married to Jack (Tunnaminawate)

One of 3 known watercolour originals; others held Pitt Rivers Museum, Oxford and the Royal Anthropological Institute, London. The inscription on the Oxford version reads 'Also known as Jack's wife, or Fanny. Aged 30 rather well disposed, but rather petulant'
